ZOKU Quick Pop Maker

I've had my eye on the ZOKU Quick Pop Maker for awhile.  For my birthday, my bestie gave me a Williams-Sonoma gift card, and I pretty much knew it would either go on the ZOKU or the mini-pie maker.  Since summer is right around the corner, I went with the ZOKU.  The kids play outside with their friends a lot, especially summer evenings.  And popsicles are usually involved.  I thought this might be a way to make them a little healthier.  As soon as I got back to the car from said kitchen store, I had to shoot my friend a picture to show her what she got me!

I had to place the ZOKU in the freezer for 24 hours before we could use it, so the girls were a little bummed about that.  It was a fairly easy process.  I had 3 kinds of Silk Fruit & Protein drinks, so the girls chose which flavors they wanted and I just had to place the sticks in, pour the drink to the fill line and wait 7 - 9 minutes.

It came with a little tool that you twist around the handles of the sticks which loosens them out and they are ready to eat!  They also had little drip trays to attach to the bottom.  The girls thought they were yummy!

You can make up to 3 batches at a time before you need to freeze the base again.  I bought the 2 pop maker.  It also comes in a 1 and 3 pop size.  You can use almost any kind of juice, yogurt mixed with milk, sweetened coffee, chocolate milk, etc.  They don't recommend juices with artificial sweetener, drinks with a low sugar content, or soft ingredients like pudding or ice cream because they may be difficult to remove.  If you're not in a hurry, you can make striped pops or use attachments (sold separately) that allow you to make flavored core pops.  The best part is that they don't recommend washing after every use!  Just put it right back in the freezer for next time!  I'm thinking we will get a lot of use out of the ZOKU this summer.  Thanks Robin!
